Surface roughness assessment with fluoride varnish application: An in vitro study

چکیده
Background: The cause of cavities is initially due to roughness on the tooth surface, requiring fluoride varnish prevent caries, as applies a compound surface. Fluoride reacts with enamel surface form calcium and fluorapatite, thus making more resistant demineralization damage. Purpose: This study aims compare surfaces among three varnishes under acidic conditions. Methods: research method uses materials: sodium 5% + tricalcium phosphate, fluoride, casein phosphopeptide-amorphous phosphate 2%. Samples 81 teeth were divided into groups (Group 1 without application, Group 2 application pH 3, 3 5). tested before after using scanning electron microscope tests. Results: results showed significant difference in mean anterior deciduous varnish. comparisons 5 very (p-value 0.000). comparison each group administration no (pH p-value 0.074 0.196). appear be rougher an all-acid solution. Conclusion: There primary being given low immersion for 24 hours.

An alternative technique for applying fluoride varnish.
F luoride varnish is a valuable tool in the prevention of tooth decay. Studies have demonstrated its effectiveness at arresting early cavitated lesions, remineralizing interproximal incipient smooth surface lesions and preventing caries. Medical personnel in many public health clinics now are applying these varnishes in an attempt to minimize treatment needs and reduce accessto-care problems. S...

AIM The aim of this study was to assess the effect of repeated (twice) applications of two fluoride varnishes (Duraflor and CavityShield) on the surface micromorphology of a high-viscosity glass ionomer (Fuji IX GP), a compomer (F2000), and a flowable composite (Filtek Flow) using a profilometer and scanning electron microscope (SEM). METHODS AND MATERIALS Fifteen specimens were prepared from...

Original research Assessment 0f Fluoride Ion Release from a Commercially Available Varnish Kumar S, Babu GLK, Subramaniam P Abstract: The remineralizing property of fluoride in a varnish depends on its sustained release, thus increasing the availability of fluoride ions around the tooth for a prolonged period. Aim: The purpose of this in vitro study was to assess the quantum of fluoride ions re...
متن کاملDental enamel around fixed orthodontic appliances after fluoride varnish application.
Poor oral hygiene has been considered one of the main problems routinely faced in the orthodontic treatment. Orthodontic appliance creates an environment that provides mineral loss from the dental enamel. Such condition is clinically seen as white spot lesions and cavitations in the most severe cases. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of a fluoride varnish application as a carie...

This study aimed at evaluating the effect of 1 and 4% titanium tetrafluoride (TiF4) gels, amine fluoride (AmF) 1 and 0.25% and a fluoride varnish (FP) on the prevention of dental erosion. Two experimental groups served as controls, one with no pretreatment and another one pretreated with a fluoride-free varnish (FP-blanco). Dental erosion was modelled using bovine enamel samples submitted to al...
